MEN

Men in our church gather weekly on Monday nights for a Bible study we can Iron Sharpeners. It’s a great time of learning and helping each other grow in the Lord. We also meet for breakfast and fellowship on the first Saturday of each month. We enjoy serving together in many capacities.

WOMEN

Welcoming and friendly, the women of the church gather weekly for a Bible study on Tuesday mornings at 9:30. Women are also a vital part of the ministry of the entire church.

CHILDREN

Kids Club on Wednesday nights is an exciting time of learning about Jesus and developing friendships. Our program consists of fun games, activities, yummy snacks, and fascinating Bible lessons. All children, ages 4-12, are welcome on Wednesdays from 6:00 – 7:30. Hope to see you there!

YOUTH

Life Group (7th-12th grade) is all about keeping the conversation authentic and real. We encourage our students to own their faith as young adults. We believe growth comes through focused small group studies. Our students are encouraged to serve the church and help lead in other areas of ministry. Life Group meets every Wednesday from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm on the second floor.

MISSIONS

We seek to share the Good News of Jesus with others around us, both near and far. We also want to help meet the real life needs of others. Together, these two efforts, meeting needs and sharing the Gospel, are the heart of our mission efforts. Come join us!

MUSIC

When we meet as a body of believers at our church, our desire is to lift up the name of Jesus corporately. Praising Him who is worthy of all our praise. We sing a mixture of the wonderful old doctrinally sound hymns as well as incorporating the new contemporary songs into our services.

We have a wonderful choir family, which meets on Wed. evenings at 5:30 to practice for periodic specials as well as cantatas that we prepare for different holiday services.

BELLS

Our church has been blessed with a three octave handbell set. Bell Choir provides an opportunity to honor and glorify God and to minister to the congregation and others through music. Bell Choir is for members age 13 and older. We meet on Wednesday evenings after church.

Rick Woods

Minister of Music

I was born in Wichita, Kansas. My father received Christ when I was about 7 years old and we began attending a Bible-believing church. After attending church and hearing God’s Word taught, I became convicted of my sin and asked Jesus into my heart when I was 8 years old.

Dad and mom retired in 1975, and we moved to Calico Rock, Arkansas, where I finished my last 3 years of high school. I met my wife while attending high school, and we were married in 1980. We have been married now for 38 years. We have 8 children: Nicole, Justin, Samuel, Hannah, Tobias, Matthew, Hayley and Jordan. We have 6 grandchildren from our 2 oldest and two more getting married this summer.

After graduating high school, I had a career in the grocery business for about 18 years. I changed jobs and began a career at the hospital in Mountain Home, AR, in the information systems department. I have been working at the hospital now for the past 20 years as a PACS Administrator and clinical analyst for the radiology dept.

God gave me a love and passion for music. I have had the privilege to be the worship leader for the First Baptist church of Bull Shoals for 25 years now. I enjoy leading our congregation in hymns as well as incorporating some of the newer contemporary music into our Call to Worship.
